BUSTER'S TIP OF THE WEEK

“Oh no, Auntie Em...have you noticed that some varieties of cherry trees, especially Yoshino and Weeping Cherries, are defoliating prematurely? This is caused by a fungus called Cherry Leaf Spot and is most severe during mild, wet weather. It can be controlled with a fungicide application next spring when the flower petals fall begin to fall. In the mean time, sanitation is next to Godliness - please remove all fallen leaves and place in the trash. Do not compost or burn! "

Fry Nursery hosts 'Autumn Garden Party'

Calling all local artisans who specialize in garden whimsy. You are invited to register to display and sell your garden-themed art from 11am until 6pm on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Fry Nursery in Pisgah Forest. Please Register on our website or phone 828 884 6491 for further information. On this day, the nursery will be celebrating the end of dog days, with an Autumn Garden Party Celebration.

The heat and humidity have been oppressive but, Buster promises, the cooler temperatures are on the way. Brevard Farm Fair Event!

The First Annual Event was held last year and proved to be a huge success. It is fun for the kids, and a great way to meet your local Transylvania County farmers, producers and nurseries in one location.

We'll be there as a vendor selling our quality unusual and unique plants for your landscape.
